TANZ MIT!

The new festival in Berlin's public space.

When and where?

Alexanderplatz, September 20-28, 2024

Opening times: daily from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM

Our vision is:

to show dance in all its diversity and make it accessible to everyone.

We want to celebrate the world of dance as a representative of Berlin's cultural diversity.

The central theme of “TANZ MIT!” Festival 2024 is “Dance without Borders”.
Under this motto, dance should be celebrated in all its forms, without restrictions or limitations.

“Dance without Borders” also stands for the idea that dance brings people together and breaks down barriers between cultures, generations and different dance forms.

In this spirit, we cordially invite you to take part in the “TANZ MIT!” festival. Experience workshops, hands-on events and discussion groups for FREE and in this way create an inclusive space. Also there will be many inspiring performances to watch free of charge, but donations are always welcome.

We recommend arriving at the dance floor at least 15 minutes before the start of your desired dance classes and dance evenings. Registration is not necessary in advance. Please remember to have a suitable wardrobe that you can move around easily in.

If you have any suggestions, contact us today to start a conversation directly.

The following points are particularly important to us

01

Inclusion and Accessibility

Dance, i.e. art and culture, should be experienced by everyone - regardless of age, origin, financial means or physical condition. Therefore, among other things, entry to the festival is free and we strive for complete accessibility.

02

Representation of the diversity of dance

The “TANZ MIT!” festival celebrates and promotes the diversity of dance forms and aims to promote appreciation for dance as an art form.

03

Artistic Platform

We want to offer established artists and emerging talents alike, dance schools and initiatives from all corners of Berlin a platform to present their creative visions and their offerings to a broad audience.

04

Cross-genre exchange

Dancers and choreographers from different disciplines should have the opportunity to learn from each other, inspire each other and explore new ways of working together.

05

Community and togetherness

On stage, in front of the stage or in conversation at one of the culinary stands, people of different backgrounds and interests can experience “TANZ MIT!” together and share their passion for dance.

06

Cultural enrichment and cultural education

By incorporating various dance styles and artists from different parts of Berlin and the world, through performances, workshops, participatory events and discussions, the audience should be able to gain insights into different cultural expressions and develop a deeper understanding of the diversity of world cultures.

With this diverse background, human with all the verbal and non-verbal means of expression are an overarching and defining theme for her.

She has been on the move with her camera since childhood - always fascinated and attracted by her environment and human existence in all its diversity. On the hunt to capture the essence of the moment with all its effect´s.

With the „ TANZ MIT! - festival“ she wants to express her view, that working together can enrich life many times over.

Giving joy is beautiful.

Steve Joshua Dyffort,

since 2000 full-time active in the performative field as a juggler, director and producer.

Growing up partly in Latin America, untouched nature became a source of inspiration in childhood. It came into his creative focus significantly through dance, especially through the Butoh. He currently travels and works primarily in nature to research its diversity and variations, whereby his artistic projects are increasingly influenced by it.

As a born berliner, he always remains linked to this city. With the “TANZ MIT!” - festival he wants to once again contribute to the cultural diversity of this metropolis and offer the city's lone fighters an opportunity to create something together.

Because dancing is an answer!

Together they are “Palo y Piedra” and joint forces since 2020 to see a bit of the world, capture it photographically and realize artistic projects. They are accompanied by their little son, who has his very own way of putting things into perspective. The world can sometimes be quite amazing, not just through children's eyes.
